The Copper Kettle - a brief
history
The Copper Kettle (as it is known today), was formerly the Bakery for the
area known as 'Montgomery's Bakery' established in the 1920's. The
bakery was in a building behind the bungalow on the road front, and also
housed the cake shop 'Ngatea Tearooms'.

The owners of over
18 years, Terry and Dennis have enlarged the
premises, and have created an
award winning business. The Copper Kettle Cafe / Tearooms renowned far and
wide for its extensive selection of ready prepared food of high quality
that is available from 7:30am, 7 days a week.
They, with their experienced staff, have the ability to efficiently cater
for Coach loads, and Car loads of travellers wanting to take a 'coffee
break' on their long journeys, knowing that they can always rely on being
served quickly if time is of the essence.
Alternatively, for those travelling at a more leisurely pace, and locals
out for a treat or special occasion, there is a comprehensive blackboard
menu for 'kitchen orders'.

From horse drawn carriages of yesteryear, to modern 50 seater
coaches of today, Ngatea's Copper Kettle is the only compulsory stop
for the many daily motorists on the busy Auckland to Tauranga main highway
(State Highway 2). |
